Helically assembled π-conjugated polymers with circularly polarized luminescence
We review the recent progress in the field of helically assembled π-conjugated polymers, focusing on aromatic conjugated polymers with interchain helical π-stacking that exhibit circularly polarized luminescence (CPL). In Part 1, we discuss optically active polymers with white-colored CPL and the amplification of the circular polarization through liquid crystallinity. In Part 2, we focus on the...
متن کاملSimulation of circularly polarized luminescence spectra using coupled cluster theory.
We report the first computations of circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) rotatory strengths at the equation-of-motion coupled cluster singles and doubles (EOM-CCSD) level of theory. Using a test set of eight chiral ketones, we compare both dipole and rotatory strengths for absorption (electronic circular dichroism) and emission to the results from time-dependent density-functional theory (TD...
متن کاملThermally activated delayed fluorescence with circularly polarized luminescence characteristics.
A metal-free aromatic compound with a chiral carbon sandwiched between a donor moiety and an acceptor moiety was designed. Under thermally activated delayed fluorescence, the compound displayed a photoluminescence quantum yield of 26%, and showed circularly polarized luminescence with a dissymmetry factor of 10(-3).
متن کاملRecent progress in research on stimuli- responsive circularly polarized luminescence based on -conjugated molecules*
This short review article summarizes recent progress in research on various stimuli-responsive circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) properties derived from π-conjugated molecules and related materials. As representative examples, assembled structures of chiral π-conjugated polymers and molecules showed tunable CPL resulting from the enhancement of chirality induction by aggregation. Fascinat...
متن کاملCircularly polarized luminescence as a probe for long-range interactions in molecular aggregates.
The extreme sensitivity of circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) to long-range excitonic interactions inside a helical aggregate is investigated. It is found to persist even in the presence of strong energetic disorder and coupling of the exciton to molecular vibrations, when the emitting exciton is localized to only a few chromophores. The CPL dissymmetry, g(lum), is found to depend on a mod...
